Privacy Policy
Last updated 10 August 2026
The short version: this site runs no analytics, no advertising trackers and no pixels. It sets no cookies of its own. The only third parties involved are the video player, the booking widget and the code library host, and each is listed by name below.
Who I am
PXLmentor is run by Cristian Spagnuolo, an individual sole trader based in Canada. I am the person responsible for the personal data described on this page. There is no company, no team and no data department behind this site, so any question about your data comes to me directly at mail@pxlmentor.com.
This policy covers www.pxlmentor.com and courses.pxlmentor.com. They are two separate installations and they behave differently, which is why course accounts get their own section below.
What I collect
On the main site, in normal browsing, I collect nothing about you. There are no forms, no analytics and no account system on www.pxlmentor.com. I do not know who visits, how many of you there are, or which pages you read.
Data reaches me only when you choose to hand it over:
- If you email me, I have your email address and whatever you wrote. It sits in my mailbox like any other correspondence.
- If you book a call, you enter your name, email and a time into Calendly, and Calendly passes that booking to me.
- If you buy or enrol, see the payments and course account sections below.
Separately, my hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, as every web server does. I do not analyse these and I do not use them to build any profile of you.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. It has no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie and no tracking cookie.
Two cookies may still appear, and neither is mine. Both Vimeo and Calendly set a __cf_bm cookie when their embed loads. That is a Cloudflare bot management cookie used to tell automated traffic from human traffic. It is theirs, it is short lived, and it is described in their policies linked below.
The privacy, terms and refunds pages deliberately load neither the video player nor the booking widget, so reading this page contacts no third party other than the code library host. A privacy policy that quietly calls out to two companies while telling you about third parties is not worth much.
Third parties
These are every external service the pages contact, verified by capturing the live network requests rather than listing what a template assumed. Each one necessarily sees your IP address, because that is how a browser fetches anything.
| Service | Why it is there | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Vimeo | Video player for the showreel and course previews. Sets __cf_bm. | Home, mentorship, courses |
| Calendly | The booking widget behind “Book a free call”. Sets __cf_bm. | Most pages |
| Cloudflare (cdnjs) | Hosts the GSAP animation library the pages use. | All designed pages |
| YouTube (thumbnails) | Static preview images for tool videos. No player, no embed. | Store |
| Aruba | My web host. Serves the site and keeps standard server logs. | Everything |
I have no advertising partners, no data brokers and no analytics provider. I do not sell your data, and I have nothing to sell even if I wanted to.
Course accounts
Buying a course on courses.pxlmentor.com creates an account, because the course has to know who is allowed to watch it. That account holds your name, your email address, your password in hashed form, your enrolments and your progress through the lessons. This information exists so the course works, and for no other purpose.
Payments
I never see or store your card details. Payments are handled by the payment provider, which collects the card data directly and sends me only the fact that a payment succeeded, along with your name, email and country.
Country matters here for a boring reason: sales tax on digital goods is charged according to where the buyer is, so the provider has to establish that.
I do not currently operate a mailing list, and there is no newsletter signup on this site. If that changes, it will be an explicit opt-in with an unsubscribe link in every message, and this section will be updated before any list exists.
If you downloaded a free tool through Gumroad in the past, Gumroad holds the email address you gave them, under their privacy policy rather than mine.
How long I keep it
- Emails stay in my mailbox until I clear them out. Ask and I will delete our correspondence.
- Course accounts stay for as long as you want access to what you bought.
- Purchase records are kept as long as tax law requires me to keep them, which is typically six years. I cannot delete these on request while that obligation stands.
- Server logs are rotated by my host on their schedule.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to ask what data I hold about you, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to how it is used. These rights come from the GDPR in the EU, the UK GDPR, Law 25 in Québec and PIPEDA in the rest of Canada.
You do not need to quote a law at me. Email mail@pxlmentor.com and ask, and I will action it. Given the size of this operation, the honest answer to “what do you hold about me” is usually “an email thread, and a course account if you bought one”.
If you are in the EU or the UK and you think I have handled your data badly, you are entitled to complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
This site is aimed at working and studying artists, and is not directed at children under 16. I do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given me personal data, email me and I will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that materially affects what is collected or who receives it will be called out rather than quietly edited in.
